Style #3: Surface Tension Guards
While they are the most expensive of the three options, they’re also the most effective -- a classic case of “you get what you pay for!” This option is installed on a slight downward slope, just above your gutters. As water comes down, it clings to the surface, making its way around the edge and into the gutter, while leaves and debris will travel down and off the edge. They can withstand the elements, are long-lasting and need very minimal maintenance. The drawback is that they’re more difficult to install, so you’ll need to hire a professional to get the job done.
